Xbox wireless headset cutting out12/28/2023 So.if you have a Wi-Fi 6 router and you are running into this issue, this appears to fix it. Having my console connected to any of the standard 5gz bands resulted in the audio issue. Either swapping your console to tour 2.4ghz band (which may already be saturated if you have a lot of smart home devices like I do) or swap it to a Wi-Fi 6 5ghz band. This appears to be the only way to fix this, for the time being. I’ve been playing Division 2 for a couple of hours now and I have not heard one single stutter, they have not cut out at all whatsoever. My console was using one of my 5ghz bands.Īfter swapping my console to my Wi-Fi 6 band, I no longer have this issue. I guess the headphones run on a proprietary 5ghz band to connect to the console. I have two AMPLIFI Alien routers, one set up as a meshpoint. I did some futzing around with changing channels on my Wi-Fi connections but none of that worked. It wasn’t until I found these posts that I realized that my headphones weren’t lemons after all. It would come back intermittently but it was virtually unusable. To my disappointment the audio would start to stutter and then completely cut out. It will require that you are using a Wi-Fi 6 capable router.Īfter setting up the headset and performing the firmware update I started playing some games to check out the audio quality. Unfortunately the fix may not be applicable to all until Microsoft releases an update that resolves this issue. I was having this problem with the brand new Xbox Wireless Headset and my Xbox Series X on a Wi-Fi connection. So I believe I was able to fix this issue.
